Die Band benannte sich in bester "Lads"-Tradition nach dem sowjetischen (ukrainischen) Kult-Fußballer der 70er und 80er Jahre, Oleg Blochin. 2000 kam es zur Umbenennung der Band, Namenspate war nun der polnische Spieler Grzegorz Lato, Torschützenkönig der Fußball-WM 1974. Die fleißige Band mit britischer Beteiligung veröffentlichte eine Reihe EP's mit stilsicherem NeoMod-Britpop auf dem ''Marsh Marigold'' Label. Desmond Squire und Martin Petersdorf arbeiten gleichzeitig seit vielen Jahren als Radio-Moderatoren bei "Radio Fritz".
